Terry and Marion Jones were located via aircraft around 10:30am this morning. Waiting several minutes after that for a ground crew to reach the frantically waiving person, it was confirmed that both were safe and were in deed the missing couple who had planned to camp over night near Rocky Mountain National Park last weekend.
It is not yet known the cause of their delay in returning to their car.
A Search plane, acting on a tip from hikers, moved further north and soon discovered what appeared to be a signal fire. They then saw an individual frantically waving from a cliff on the opposite side of the Big South Trailhead. At the time of this report, rescue workers say that even though they have not yet actually met up with the Jones, there didn’t seem to be any serious injuries.
