The desert landscape and the works of 24 artists will come together this weekend at the 16th annual Joshua Tree National Park Art Festival.
Artists come from all over Southern California and farther north, said Margo Recker, an artist whose work will be displayed at the festival.
"We have some very fine photographers," she said. Look for gourd art, sculptures, paintings, ceramics, sun catchers, jewelry and a variety of other art media.
Most of the work was inspired by the desert, Recker said. And it's the perfect time of year for a visit. "The wildflowers are gorgeous."
The festival will be open today through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Joshua Tree National Park Oasis of Mara Visitor Center, 74485 National Park Drive, Twentynine Palms. For more information, call 760-367-5500. There is no fee for the festival.
