This year, Adventure-Crew got the opportunity to try out a new outdoor product on the market that performs in a way that is often rare to new products; it does exactly what it says. The Skeeter Beater truck and car window screen keeps out bugs while you are car camping.

The pocketed, magnetic, passive fasteners securely keep the mesh attached to your truck door without scratching or otherwise marring the paint. Adventure-Crew's Team Two Rig is a late model Trail Blazer with a very nice smoke grey paint finish that I take care of. I don’t place bumper stickers on it or even park in normal Wal-Mart parking spaces because of the danger of door dings. But, I’m not at all afraid to slap a Skeeter Beater over the window while stopped under the shade to eat lunch while on a road trip, or while camping at night.
Here in Illinois, we have a very small gnat like “flyer” that is smaller than a fruit fly so it gets through many bug barriers. Leaving the windows open at night is often a mistake even with standard screens because of these little “flyers”. But, the Skeeter Beaters fine mesh stops even the smallest flying insects right at the window.
From the inside, with the window rolled halfway up for this photo, the Real Tree style blends in completely with the outside for a relaxing and descrete view.

And, the Skeeter Beater is so high tech and advanced, it folds up and stows away in its own ultra light weight, mini duffel, taking up no more real estate than a small child’s t-shirt. We keep ours in the center console; and that’s a set of two in the mini duffel.

Get a set for each of your trucks. The next time you’ve got the seats down in back and the bedroll laid out, you’ll be very glad for that nice, sweet, forest breeze passing cleanly through the truck while you snooze, totally bug free.
