"Why are The Smokys called the Smokys?"
ANSWER; Because the transpiration of fresh oxygen into the local atmosphere from the heavy forestation is seen as a hazy bluish smoke. This phenomenon is not unique to The Smokys, but occurs many places around the globe.
Every week, Adventure-Space promotes education about our natural resources by presenting an outdoor quiz in our weekly eNewsletter. By the next newsletter, we will randomly choose a winner from those who responded with the correct answer, and send them a free Adventure-Crew hat, just like the ones we wear while on our photo and video shoots in the national parks.
There is only one prize per week. Drawings are collected based on the date of correct answer submissions. If you have any questions regarding this contest, please click here.
