    A visit to the coast

    Point Reyes National Seashore

Point Reyes National Seashore is a great place to stop by and visit.  There are amazing rolling hills and mountains in the area, as well as great beaches.  A must see is the lighthouse out on the point, and if you are up for it there is a staircase that will take you down to it.  Be sure to bring some water, as this is a steep walk.  Point Reyes is one of the foggiest places on the coast.  It was no surprise to me when I arrived and fog covered most of the area.  After about 10:00am the fog burned off and left great views of the coastline.  My favorite spot was Drakes beach.  This is a must see.  I was lucky enough to get there during low tide so the exposed beach was huge!  Bring your sandals so you can take a stroll in the water.  There is a place to grab lunch here and I noticed a lot of people set up shop in the parking lot for a picnic.

Be sure to check out these pictures by going to the Photo Gallery on the navigation menu above and find Point Reyes National Seashore in the California section.
