New Wider Format Meets Current Web Needs

By Stu Marks, Adventure Host, Team Two

When Adventure-Crew was born in the mind of founder Clint Pollock, and began to be implemented with Illinois Institute of Art grads as well as local videographer Mike Pudlo, meeting the needs of as many adventurers as possible was the ultimate goal; not only in content, but also in form and structure. Thus, the careful approach towards designing for the masses was followed.

With Clint’s leadership and from his formal education and experience in Internet backbone infrastructure, the mothership Adventure-Crew versions 1.0 through 1.9 in the early years of the 2000 decade were designed with maximum delivery to both dialup and early high speed adventurers. Reasonable download times still offered several videos at various viewing speeds, as well as an interactive map interface that helped national park information of the top 100 parks be accessible to everyone, regardless of connection speed.

Today, the modern statistics of a global community have brought the number of high speed Internet customers way beyond the 50% mean, allowing many Web forums to broaden their scope of services and information delivery. Adventure-Crew.com is among those leading web concerns who have taken advantage of the vast number of standard home and business high speed connections in order to offer more depth in their respective fields.

Starting this week, Adventure-Crew 2.0 has been released and offers the largest change to date in the web based outdoor adventure community. We are now delivering national park outdoor adventure features in the wide format. Among other design benefits, the major advantages are that more information is “above the fold” so less scrolling is necessary in the front display and feature pages, our wide screen videos are more easily viewed and, the information available is more varied and better organized into larger categories than earlier versions.

New improvements to look forward to this year are more developed state maps for a clearer view of park saturated states like Utah, California, Washington, Virginia and the monuments of Washington D.C., among others.

We are still designing with an inclusive profile because everything we assemble into each page is optimized for faster downloading. Our exclusive Video Flash Players optimize each video so virtually anyone can watch streaming videos with standard or highspeed DSL, cable or wireless connections.

All anyone need do is download free flash players from Adobe.  This means that laptops with air cards any where on the globe with service, lunch customers at Panera’s, McDonalds, or any other Wi-Fi Hot Spot as well as the standard connections at home and business work stations can enjoy exclusive national park adventure videos and park facts and details from Adventure-Crew.com.

So, log on, sit back, and enjoy, at http://www.adventure-crew.com/.
