Being
from the Midwest, I didn't get many opportunities to witness a Sand Dune other
the Famous Indiana Sand Dunes,
which don't get me wrong I'm still astonished on the creation of those dunes
but this picture is obvious not in Indiana.
The Great Sand
Dunes National Park is a must stop when in Colorado.
There are not many places to stay outside the park, so make sure you pack your
flip flops, sun tan lotion, and a tent because you'll want to relax after
hiking up one of these dunes.
Trust me the sand dunes are not as close as they look from the visitor's center
but well worth the trek up, down and around. On that note, we saw several
families attempting to slide down the dunes on cardboard boxes with minimal
success, so if this sounds fun to you then plan ahead and bring your own sled.
