We rented a canoe in Columbia and drove out to the Cedar Creek Access area on the East side of the park.December through April is the potential flooding season which would be the best time to canoe in the park.  We went in October and Cedar Creek was very low.  We were able to canoe even though the area was in a major drought.  It was a pretty cool trip and I would recommend doing it.

I’m with Clint, I highly recommend taking a canoe trip through Congaree National Park in South Carolina.  Try to plan your trip in the early spring to help ensure you’ll have plenty of the swamp to explore.
