Great Blue Heron, the I & M Canal near Morris, IL

In April of 2008, we finally were able to figure out how to capture one of these beautiful birds in a somewhat grainy photo as it took flight while fishing. Seconds before this photo, we had just witnessed it gulp down a four inch fish it had captured from the canal. Our next project is to position ourselves to capture it, capturing a fish.

This is the second bike of quality that I've owned. As a teen I sold my drum set and bought a Schwinn LaTour Ultralight 10-speed. Don't even have a clue what happened to it. This is a Boss Cruiser purchased in 2006.

From the recent article on photo gadgets by Stu Marks, this photo shows the steadiness of a monopod in a series of three shots captured on a speed burst using a Cannon Digital Rebel. Green 22 hands the ball off to Green 38, successfully misleading <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Burgundy</st1:place></st1:State> 47 who learns too late that Green 22 no longer has the ball. Notice that there is no blur caused by hand jiggle or any other camera movement. The monopod is more than sufficient for outdoor sports shots, and any other like profile shooting.
